About Talent:
Sammson Orr is a 24 y/o non-binary animator and film-maker from Glasgow, Scotland. Graduated from studying animation at Edinburgh College of Art in 2023, they have accomplished several festival selections with their graduate film ‘Growin Pains’, winning best animation at 5 festivals. They thrive on seeing a story come together and giving life to inanimate things, working with a vast amount of materials from stop-motion, clay, paper, and puppetry to 2D hand-drawn and digital. Their favourite stories to tell explore childhood, dreams and mental health but always contain a flare of whimsy and magic. Heavily inspired by artists Shaun Tan, Candice Purwin, John Byrne, Miyazaki and Del Toro. Currently they work as an assistant for The Portal Arts, Govan as well as doing freelance animations, mural projects and working on a new film funded by GMAC Little Pictures!
