SATURATE: Queer Filmmaking Course by SQIFF


Apply now for this practical 10 week filmmaking course, which will touch on the entire independent filmmaking process from beginning to end, situating practical learning in technical filmmaking and creative directing skills within wider LGBTQIA+ film history, screenings, and readings.

About SATURATE

SATURATE is a new 10 week course for members of the LGBT community to learn new filmmaking skills and grow their existing skills. Participants will work in groups of three to learn how to develop a short film in Glasgow over the summer that will premiere in a specially curated screening at the 11th Edition of the Scottish Queer International Film Festival in October 2026.

This course is led by filmmaker Erica Monde (they/them) and SQIFF director Indigo Korres (she/her).

Supported by Screen Scotland’s Screen Education Fund.

Dates & Location

Sessions will be held on Saturdays from 23rd May – 1st August from 1:30 – 5:30 PM, except for the 14th of June, which is a Sunday.

Sessions will take place at the Boardwalk in Glasgow (105 Brunswick St, Glasgow, G1 1TF).

Eligibility

In order to be eligible for the course, you must meet the following requirements and be:
+ A member of the LGBTQIA+ community
+ Available for all planned sessions
+ Living in Scotland
+ 18 years or older

This course is suitable for participants of all levels.

How to Apply

The deadline for applications is Sunday 3 May 2026 at midnight.

Participants will hear back about the outcome of their application the following week.
