Telepathy, psychic yearning, ghostly cruising…. And that’s just the first date.
Join us to explore the intuitive and psychic nature of sapphic relationships, where lust is mythic and dreaming is half the flirt. These shorts pull us into the freaky realm of lesbian imagination. We’ll drift into the clouds of a queer utopia, connect telepathically with our partners, haunt a darkened cinema at night, and party underground the smokey street of Paris. A programme to explore that lesbian urge to connect on the astral plane.
After the screening, join us for a panel discussion on queer film events in Glasgow and beyond, hosted by Nancy Holt and Aga Paulina Młyńczak from Sapphic Cinema Club, and Nat Lall from SQIFF.

‘Close’ is a video work consisting of the artist’s digital dopplegänger, MV Beta, reciting a poem stitched from clinical language taken directly from the artist’s medical notes, interrupted by their own words. It begins in a tight close-up on the avatar’s face, relaying something between report + confession; MV Beta is a mask that reveals.

In a queer utopia, two couples sit in conversation at a restaurant, waiting for service that will never arrive. As hunger grows, they talk about time and happiness. One dreams of a mother’s blessing, another of ghosts in the past. Not wanting to wait forever, they decide to leave.
My Senses Are All I Have To Offer, Dir. Isadora Neves Marques, 2024, Portugal, 20 min.
Lourdes and Lana met telepathically using “sensory pills”, a technology that allows access to other people’s sensations from a distance. After months of relationship, Lourdes decides to visit the country house of her parents, Vicente and Carl, and introduce them to her girlfriend.

An experimental erotic thriller, Dream Factory explores the historical role of cinemas as cruising sites, as well as cinema’s relationship with desire and fantasy.

Daughters of Destiny, Dir. Valentin Noujaïm, 2021, France, 28 min.
On the closing night of their favorite bar, Eden, Crystal and Ibtissame, experience strange events. Crystal mysteriously disappears, kidnapped by a purple star. Eden sets out to find the one she loves, only to discover that Crystal is trapped in a parallel and fantastic world.
