Vacancies: Press and Digital Marketing Assistant, Volunteer Coordinator, and Events Coordinator

SQIFF 2017 will take place 27th September to 1st October in Glasgow and we are recruiting for the following roles to help us make the Festival happen. Press and Digital Marketing Assistant
Deadline: Wednesday 9th August at 5pm
Part-time, temporary contract / Mon 14th August to Mon 2nd October
Fee: £1000

We are looking for someone to assist our Press & Marketing Coordinator in delivering our marketing strategy for the Festival, in particular taking responsibility for our online presence. Specific tasks will include looking after SQIFF’s social media leading up to and during the Festival. We are keen to employ someone interested in developing original ideas for marketing the Festival via social media.

The post is part-time with a total of around 100 hours to be worked over the contract period. Distribution of hours is flexible and will be worked out with the Press & Marketing Coordinator. You must, however, be available for a concentrated period of work in the weeks leading up to and during the main Festival dates of 27th September to 1st October.

We are looking for someone who has experience (paid or voluntary) in marketing a film festival or other arts or community event or organisation. It is also essential that the post-holder is on board with SQIFF’s commitment to equality and improving accessibility to the arts. An interest in film, queer art, LGBTQ+ issues, and/or D/deaf and disabled arts access would be advantageous.

 

Volunteer Coordinator
Deadline: Friday 18th August at 5pm
Part-time, temporary contract / Friday 25th August to Friday 6th October
Fee: £800

We are looking for someone to coordinate the recruitment and management of our volunteers for the Festival. This will involve working with SQIFF’s Coordinator in recruiting volunteers, leading volunteer training sessions and devising volunteer schedules, as well as managing volunteers during the Festival.

The post is part-time with a total of around 80 hours to be worked over the contract period. Distribution of hours is flexible and will be worked out with the Festival Coordinator. You must, however, be available for a concentrated period of work in the weeks leading up to and during the the main Festival dates of 27th September to 1st October.

We are looking for someone who has at least 6 months experience (paid or voluntary) managing volunteers at a film festival or other arts or community event. It is also essential that the post-holder is on board with SQIFF’s commitment to equality and improving accessibility to the arts. An interest in film, queer art, LGBTQ+ issues, and/or D/deaf and disabled arts access would be advantageous.

 

Events Assistant
Deadline: Friday 1st September at 5pm
Temporary contract / Monday 18th September to Monday 2nd October
Fee: £500

We are looking for someone to assist the SQIFF Coordinator in ensuring the smooth running of all events at the Festival. This will involve working with SQIFF’s Coordinator alongside venue staff to make sure events are organised and realised effectively during the Festival.

The post has a total of around 50 hours to be worked over the contract period. Distribution of hours will be concentrated during the the main Festival dates of 27th September to 1st October.

We are looking for someone who has at least 1 year experience (paid or voluntary) working in a film events organising and managing role. It is also essential that the post-holder is on board with SQIFF’s commitment to equality and improving accessibility to the arts. An interest in film, queer art, LGBTQ+ issues, and/or D/deaf and disabled arts access would be advantageous.
