Vacancies: Festival Administrator and Press & Marketing Coordinator

Scottish Queer International Film Festival (SQIFF) will have its first edition 24th to 27th September this year in Glasgow. We have a couple of paid freelance posts for people to help us make the Festival happen:

Festival Administrator

Part-time, freelance / Mon 29th June to Mon 12th October

Fee: £3250

We are looking for someone to help us do the admin for the Festival. This will involve working together with SQIFF’s committee and Press & Marketing Coordinator in tasks such as liaising with venues, filmmakers, distributors, and guests, coordinating print transport, coordinating recruitment of volunteers, and generally contributing to the running of the Festival.

This is a freelance position with a total of 300 hours to be worked over the contract period. Distribution of hours will be worked out with the SQIFF committee. You must, however, be available for a concentrated period of work in the weeks leading up to and during the Festival in September.

We are looking for someone who has at least 1 year’s experience (paid or voluntary) either working behind the scenes at a film festival or doing community arts organising. It is also essential that the post-holder is on board with SQIFF’s commitment to equality and improving accessibility to the arts. An interest in film, queer art, and/or LGBTIQ issues would also be advantageous.
