SQIFF 2020 takes place 14th to 18th October in Glasgow and we are offering a £1000 commission for someone to create the artwork to appear on our print marketing materials and merchandise this year.
A major strand at #SQIFF20 will focus on queer sci-fi, so we invite pitches that reflect this theme.
To be eligible you must be based in Scotland and have lived experience of LGBTQIA+ issues. Send your pitches to helen[at]sqiff.org outlining your idea and a little bit about your background as an artist. We are looking for originality and ideas that fit SQIFF’s image and ethos. You will preferably have some experience of working with artwork for print but this isn’t essential. Artists previously commissioned to create our artwork include Asten Holmes-Elliott, Garry Mac, Hannah Moitt, Susie McConnell (Firebrat), and Saffa Khan.
The deadline for sending your pitch is Friday 15th May at 5pm. The chosen artist will then work towards a completion deadline of Monday 8th June.
