We Are Eternal
Love takes many shapes. In this selection of shorts from Brazil, different kinds of love move through distinct relationships. Not eternal as in forever unchanged, but constantly evolving: a throuple that keeps choosing each other as illness rewrites what they remember. Travesti friends who sit together inside grief rather than apart from it. Lovers locked out of their own home, borrowing warmth from strangers until morning. A father and estranged son bound by an ache neither can name. A deaf man and a stranger, something quiet beginning, while an old friendship watches close by.
These films hold each of these bonds as a kind of eternity, not because it lasts unchanged, but because it keeps being shaped and reshaped. Every connection here is built, lost, and often but not always built again. Eternity is not permanence, but persistence. Love that survives by being chosen, over and over again.

After finding themselves locked out of their house, three queer Brazilian lovers spend a day and night navigating the streets of Brussels. We follow their journey and the people they encounter along the way. The film offers a heartfelt portrayal of their search for belonging in a foreign land.

Iceberg, Dir. Will Domingos, 2021, Brazil, 25 min
During the COVID-19 pandemic in Rio de Janeiro, water runs dry at a LGBTQI+ youth shelter. Renê, one of the residents, paints the anguish of a spirit haunting the mansion’s pipes. Across town, his estranged father, a solitary plumber, is tormented by the same dark curse.

After the death of a friend, five travestis discover a mysterious hole inside their own home.

Morpheus and Charon, Dirs. Luiz Ulian, Jocimar Dias Jr., 2026, Brazil, 14 min.
A throuple of queer elderly men deals with the proximity of death — Zito, who has been diagnosed with dementia, and his two lovers, Morpheus and Charon. As the illness progresses, the boundaries between dream and reality blur: Zito imagines his last days as if his whole life was a Brazilian samba musical extravaganza, while his partners in life take care of him until their last farewell.

Waves of Silence (Special Preview Screening), Dir. Caio J. Bonfim, 2026, Brazil, 20 min.
Between helping his mother run her hotel and looking after his birds, Amon who is deaf, feels an immediate connection with new water delivery man, Roberto, as best friend Daniella sets her eyes on him also.
