Re:Frame

This special screening showcases bold and original short films created by participants of the SQIFF Filmmaking Workshops for Trans and Non-Binary People, led by artist and filmmaker Erica Monde. Delivered in collaboration with Scottish Trans, the workshops offered a series of collaborative sessions where participants explored storytelling, visual language, and filmmaking techniques in a supportive, trans-led space. The result is a powerful collection of short works that reflect the diversity, complexity, and creativity of trans and non-binary lives and perspectives. From personal reflection to experimental narrative, these films challenge the mainstream gaze and reclaim the frame through authentic self-expression. Whether playful, political, poetic, or all of the above, each piece is a testament to the value of community-centred filmmaking and the importance of trans voices in cinema. Join us in celebrating these emerging filmmakers and the stories they’ve chosen to share with the world. There will be a Q&A with the filmmakers following the screening.
Hosted by Erica Monde.
