A Nova Era

Curated in collaboration with Mostra Queer Brasil, this vibrant programme of short films offers a window into queer life and imagination across Brazil. From poetic documentary to sci-fi, magical realism to tender coming-of-age, the selection celebrates how fluidity, resistance, and reinvention shape queer identities and experiences in Brazilian contexts.
These stories reflect a country where transformation is constant and identity is expansive. Whether through ancient landscapes, futuristic visions, or intimate connections, the films explore how queer Brazilians carve out space to live, feel, and dream on their own terms.
The screening includes a surprise short, winner of Best Brazilian Short Film from Mostra Luminosa in Bahia, and will be followed by a conversation on Brazilian queer cinema between filmmaker and Mostra Queer Brasil founder Ricky Mastro and Amazônia EcoQueer curator Danilo Baraúna.
Curated by Indigo Korres and Ricky Mastro.
