SUMMARY:SQIFF Queer Filmmakers Group
DESCRIPTION:🔊 Listen to this Event Page\n \n \nAre you a queer filmmaker wanting to meet other queer filmmakers and develop project ideas together? \nThe SQIFF Queer Filmmakers Group is an initiative to bring local queer filmmakers together for monthly two-hour group sessions to network and support each other in the development of film projects. These sessions will be facilitated by a SQIFF member. We aim to grow the group in the future to become a collective of queer filmmakers in Glasgow. \n\n\n\n\nFor this session\, L.I.P.S. (Lesbians in Peer Support)\, a youth group that Glasgow Women’s Library ran from 2000 to 2006 will join us to screen ‘Dykes in the City’\, a trilogy of three short films produced in collaboration with GMAC in 2001. The event will include a panel discussion with the filmmakers. \n\n\n\n\nThe group is open for any level of filmmaking and we really encourage people just starting out in the medium to come along. \nWe got enough funding to run the monthly SQIFF Queer Filmmakers Group sessions until June 2024\, hope to see you all in every single session. Moreover\, during one of the sessions later this year\, we will run a short films pitch contest and we will be giving £500 to contribute towards the production of two films. \nSession (4/12) \nSupported by the National Lottery Community Fund. \nTickets are FREE. To book\, click here \n  \nAccessibility:  \nPlease get in touch by emailing info@sqiff.org if you have any access requirements to attend this session. \nThis screening has an age recommendation of N/C 16+. \n15 minutes long with Q&A after the screening. \nEnglish audio with English language captions. BSL-English interpretation and live captioning provided. \nRelaxed event. \nWheelchair Access. \nWe have an Audience Access Fund for travel. If you would like to take this up\, please visit the access desk at the entrance of the CCA\, or contact info@sqiff.org. \nYou can find out more information about accessibility at SQIFF 2023 here. If you have any questions about accessibility at SQIFF 2023\, please get in touch with us at info@sqiff.org or by phone on 07873 331 036. \nWe ask that you wear a mask if possible and please don’t attend the screening if you have any symptoms of Covid-19 or have been in recent contact with a confirmed case. FFP2 masks will be available for free by the Quiet Space. \nImage credit: SQIFF
