SUMMARY:SQIFF presents: Queers in the City
DESCRIPTION:A selection of shorts looking at the relationship of LGBTQ+ people to cities. In depicting anonymous cruising\, lamenting gentrification\, showing cities as a backdrop to loneliness and personal pain\, and creating comedy subversion of urban imagery\, these films recognise the unique place of queers in the city space. Featuring work by both international and local artists plus a filmmaker Q&A. Open to ages 15+. \nAll films will be subtitled or captioned for D/deaf and hard of hearing access. We will have a BSL interpreter for the Q&A. GMAC Film is a wheelchair accessible venue. There is level access at the entrance and then a lift up to GMAC Film’s 5th Floor location\, and an accessible toilet near the screening space. SUMMARY:Reaching Communities - LGBTQI+ Preview Day
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a fantastic day of preview screenings of upcoming LGBTQI+ film releases. The event is open to both film programmers and LGBTQI+ groups who are interested in screening films. \nFor existing film groups\, the Preview Day will be an opportunity to see new films prior to public release\, from a selection of distributors you may not have encountered before. We will be screening four new titles that we hope will help inform your future programme. \nIf you are an LGBTQI+ group that is considering screening films\, Cinema For All and SQIFF (Scottish Queer International Film Festival) will be on hand to give you the support and information you need to help establish your own community cinema/ film society\, as well as offering tailored advice on inclusivity and accessibility. Information packs and case studies will also be provided on the day. \nThere will be networking opportunities throughout the day\, offering opportunities to meet other film groups and share ideas. Tea\, coffee and a light lunch will be available\, with vegan options available. Lunch will be served upstairs with access via a lift. There is an accessible toilet on the bottom floor nearby the Cinema. The films are in a variety of languages and all with English subtitles. The CCA also uses an induction loop system.
