DESCRIPTION:Listen to this Event Page\n  \nHold your p*ssies! \nDue to unforseen circumstances\, we are sadly unable to open the Rest in Pussy Bonjour installation during SQIFF week. \nThe Bonjour team is working on bringing this exhibition to life in the future 💋 \n  \nTuesday 8th – Friday 11th: 3-8pm\, Saturday 12th: 12pm-8pm at CCA Creative Lab \n“Rest in Pussy Bonjour\,” is an installation celebrating the legacy and community of Glasgow’s beloved\, missed\, independent queer workers co-operative\, Bonjour. From 2021 to 2023\, Bonjour was a vibrant community hub striving to uplift Queer POC and Trans artists\, nurturing new DJs\,  dancefloor kisses\, soul searching Karaoke ballads and heartfelt comings out. This exhibition showcases iconic ephemera\, photographs\, club fixtures\, archival zines\, and Polaroids\, along with a sneak peek into a documentary in progress. Explore the history and impact of this cherished space with an interactive opportunity to share personal memories. The team are actively seeking support in developing the documentary to archive the histories\, complexities and valuable lessons from experiences from those who gave their all in hopes of a queer utopia in Glasgow’s saltmarket. These films capture Deaf and disabled perspectives and intersectional identity\, seeking to spark conversations about collective\, intertwined struggles and how our climate plays a role in our unity.  \nThis special showcase will also feature the short film Bee’s Journey\, which was produced by emerging Deaf filmmakers and created in response to the Scottish Sensory Centre’s ‘Rewilding BSL’ project. This project led to the creation of over 400 British Sign Language signs for climate and environment-related terms\, making climate justice action and environmental discussions more accessible for BSL users.  \nBee’s Journey came to life during a filmmaking workshop\, ‘Filming Our World: Rewilding BSL & Queer Ecologies\,’ facilitated by Take One Action Film Festivals\, SQIFF\, and Edinburgh Deaf Festival this summer. Expect a range of media\, all in one room. Come and meet some of the best local creatives and treat yourself to a crafty souvenir from our 2024 festival! \n  \nArtists in the fair include: \n\nArt of Birdie: a small business selling stickers and art prints\, run by Malini (she/they)\, a multidisciplinary artist based in Glasgow. Celebrating the authenticity in you through wit\, a pinch of activism and aesthetics! \nCreative Bloc: a new community arts space for those otherwise marginalised from arts and crafts\, run by Addison (she/they) and Kirsty (they/them). They specialise in pottery\, ceramic/resin jewelry and rug tufting with more craft opportunities to come. \nEnbean Art: a small queer art business run by Jean Anderson (they/them)\, which aims to provide representation of all bodies\, gender identity and expression. Enbean specialises in prints\, stickers and badges!\nEzra Tatton (he/they) is a queer and trans artist in his final year of Illustration at Glasgow School of Art. All money made from his art will go towards his top surgery fundraiser. His illustrations focus mostly on trans masculinity and queer joy\, and his most popular prints are queer cowboys. There will be a mix of work including riso prints\, lino prints\, zines\, t-shirts and bandanas.\nGainAgain: a queer neurodiverse crafting duo run by multi-faceted non-binary artists Drew and Kirsty [both use they/them pronouns] from Glasgow who make eco-conscious soft interior furnishing from upcycled/recycled/scrap fabric sources.\nGayClay (he/him): a trans masc ceramic artist from Glasgow\, creates clay objects inspired by video games\, mediaeval architecture\, history\, and queer culture. His upcoming collection features relics and amulets with a twist of queerness.\nHank aka G41 (they/them): a queer mixed media textile artist and tooth gem technician from Glasgow. Using mainly crochet and embroidery techniques on clothing inspired by memes\, cartoons and nature.\nJangling Space: a creative co-operative designing and making locally inspired stained glass pieces. They are committed to bringing people from all walks of life together to experience the joy of co-operative creation in a process that connects us with ourselves\, each other\, and our wider community.\nJasna (they/them) aka Froggy Starshine: a queer and neurodivergent fibre artist based in Edinburgh. They enjoy making cute accessories and amigurumi and their work aims to bring joy.\nJessie Makes Rainbows: run by Geordie-lass-turned-Glasgow-fairy-princess Unicorn Jessie (she/her)\, Jessie Makes Rainbows specialises in handmade colourful jewellery for colourful people.\nLeinadwear: run by Glasgow School of Art Graduate Daniel (he/him)\, is a queer-owned crochet brand in Glasgow. The brand offers handmade\, eco-friendly homewares and accessories\, emphasising sustainability and zero waste.\nMade by Froggy: an upcycled accessories brand by Nat Ferguson (they/he)\, featuring handbeaded designs that celebrate queer expression. Using secondhand materials\, the brand offers unique\, affordable creations for everyone.\nMith Chahal (they/them): an interdisciplinary visual artist and illustrator based in Glasgow for over 5 years. They create abstract comics and polymer clay collectibles using both analog and digital mediums.\nNina Candido (she/her): a Glasgow-based jeweller who creates playful\, functional pieces inspired by mythology and everyday life. Using traditional metalworking and mixed materials\, she crafts statement pieces that aim to empower the wearer.\nNy Ali/Nytastic (she/her): a Hijabi Muslim artist with a HND in illustration. She specialises in comics and sells prints\, pins\, badges\, and crochet plushies\, with her work featured online and at conventions and markets.\nPower Couple Press is a Glasgow-based independent press and distro founded by two artists\, Aki Hassan and Nat Walpole\, in 2018. This platform centres self-published zines\, comic and illustration\, with a particular interest in showcasing work by queer trans artists based in Scotland.\nSLEEPIE RECORDS: founded by DJ FLUFFIE (they/them) in 2023\, produces physical CDs showcasing the best local trance+ music. Lesvia is a documentary film chronicling the site of queer pilgrimage and tensions felt between local villagers and new sapphic arrivals of the last four decades.
