SUMMARY:Queer Women in Love: Something Must Break (Dundee)
DESCRIPTION:Shy Sebastian is in the process of working out their gender identity when they meet and fall for rebellious Andreas. Trans-identifying director Ester Martin Bergsmark’s (She Male Snails) first fictional feature is a visually stunning and emotionally intense look at romance and eroticism through the eyes of a young queer person. \nScreening with short films Fingers and Dinner For Two. Fingers by Sandra Alland features a British Sign Language (BSL) poetry performance by Alison Smith about love\, longing\, and the sexiness of touch. Dinner For Two by Ami Nashimoto is a super cute musical in which a woman stresses over preparing something suitable and vaguely edible for her vegan\, gluten-free-diet date. \nPresented together with Dundee University Feminist Society. We are pleased Fingers‘ director Sandra Alland and writer and star Alison Smith will join us for a Q&A. \nRated 18. \nContent note: depiction of transphobia\, including slightly graphic transphobic violence; ambiguous scenes of sexual humiliation.\n \nFree. Tickets only available on the door. Room 3G02 within Dalhousie Building. \nBSL interpretation. Something Must Break is in Swedish with English subtitles. Fingers is in BSL with English subtitles and Dinner For Two will also screen with English subtitles. \nDalhousie Building is a wheelchair accessible venue. Entry to the building is via a wheelchair access lift with a lift up to the third floor where the screening takes place. There is an accessible toilet near the screening area.  To book a place for a wheelchair or for any further access info\, please contact Helen on 07735 273 245 or at helen@sqiff.org. \nPart of SQIFF presents: Queer Women in Love\, a season of films by and about lesbian\, bisexual\, and queer women. Part of BFI LOVE\, in partnership with Plusnet bfi.org.uk/love.
