Unsettled: Seeking Refuge in America online for LGBT History Month

SQIFF is pleased to be making documentary Unsettled: Seeking Refuge in America available online for the rest of February for LGBT History Month 2021. Unsettled is a feature-length documentary revealing the untold stories of LGBT refugees and asylum seekers who have fled intense persecution from their home countries and who are resettling in the United States. The film will be hosted on the online players of Macrobert Arts Centre and Dundee Contemporary Arts for several weeks.

We are presenting the film in partnership with LGBT Unity Scotland, a community-led group providing essential support to LGBTQIA+ refugees, asylum seekers, and other migrants. Earlier in February we held an online discussion with members of LGBT Unity responding to the film and discussing the situation for LGBTQ asylum seekers in the UK. Click here to watch a captioned recording of the discussion.

Supported by Film Hub Scotland, part of the BFI’s Film Audience Network, and funded by Screen Scotland and National Lottery funding from the BFI.
