Queer Women in Love: Bound (Glasgow)

December 10, 2015 @ 7:00 pm - 9:30 pm

Violet (Jennifer Tilly) longs to escape her relationship with her mafioso boyfriend Caesar and seizes the chance when alluring ex-con Corky (Gina Gershon) comes along. Violet and Corky enter into a clandestine affair and hatch a scheme to steal 2 million dollars of mafia money.  The first film directed by trans woman Lana Wachowski and her brother Andy, Bound employed author and performer Susie Sexpert to choreograph its steamy sex scenes, and drew inspiration from classical Hollywood director Billy Wilder in its noir crime thriller approach to queer love.

Screening with short film Netflix & Chips, made by collective Lock Up Your Daughters as part of the Glasgow 48 Hour Film Project. Star of Netflix & Chips, trans filmmaker, and blogger Kate Adair will join us for a Q&A. Plus we’ll have an intro to Bound by Glasgow University Film Studies lecturer Dr Allison Macleod.
